The story of her sprained ankle is a misty one: did she exaggerate the injury just to sabotage production and get back at the producers and director, whom she didn’t get on with? She could be manipulative of course (all models and actors are), though in her case, injuries and made-up stories about poor orphan homes often were a way of gaining some sympathy, something she otherwise very rarely received.
